There are few places in New Zealand that can inspire you to paint as much as Taranaki, New Zealand. It’s not hard to find scenery in Taranaki that you just have to put down on canvas. I have had the pleasure of painting full-time in Taranaki for the last 15 years.

 

I paint in oils which gives me plenty of time to blend my colours as well as giving fantastic texture and vibrant colours.

Of course, our gorgeous mountain is a favourite subject to paint, and I never tire of painting it in it’s different angles and snow patterns.

 

Beaches and surf are equally enjoyable to paint. I particularly enjoy painting the drama that waves create as they crash into our coastline. Of course the lifestyle of being a full-time artist is fantastic and also being able to give people the pleasure of having their favourite Taranaki scene hanging up on their walls.
